Michael Wolf is a German Photographer who works and lives in Paris and Hong Kong. Most of his work I think is photography, but the series that I am going to discuss is more curating and using appropriation. This piece of work is called A Series of Unfortunate Events where he uses appropriation by going on Google street view and taking images from there where he has found an accident/unfortunate event about to happen or in progress.
I’ve selected my favourite photos from his series of photographs below.
These are my favourite because you can clearly tell he has virtually walked around the streets on the internet just to find these events and probably took him ages, but what I like more is the fact the Google car that goes round taking the photographs caught these events on the camera instead of helping the people up, I hope after the person who was in the car did help people and called the police/fire brigade.
